this is on windows xp pro
my connection to quickbook works fine in visual studio when i run the web service in the dev environment but not as a stand alone web service in iss
i added the asp.net user to administator
any idea on how to make an asp.net service connect to quickbooks or what "permission" visual studio asp.net user doesnt have as an administator.
everything Im reading says that asp.net needs to be a privledged user -- which i thought the admin was
any help is greatly appreciated

First off, the IIS User should never be added to the administrators group.
To your problem. Are you receiving any error messages? Does the Quickbook package need to be installed on the server? Does the IIS User have read/write rights to the folder and applicable Quickbook files?

i agree that the asp.net user shouldnt be an admin but im just trying to get this working on a dev box
and yes to all of your questions. there are no error messages
any other suggestions?

Does the server have the QuickBooks web service on it. Can you browser for it http://www<yoursite>/myservice.asmx?

everything is on the same machine -- quickbooks, quickbooks sdk, and visual studio
i even went as far as to add asp.net user directly to the realtive components

Sorry, but without comparing the too, it would be hard to tell what is wrong. Check the Event Log for errors.
