I recently started to use netfirms for my asp.net hosting. I previously used PHP so I use Dreamhost for hosting those sites. I want to know if anyone could tell me anything about netfirms, I am getting unhappy with my service. It seems that most of what
I put up there works everywhere except for on their servers.
Could anyone give me an idea of a good place to host with besides netfirms, someplace someone has experience and a history with?

I've hosted at
webhost4life for the past 4 years. I've been very happy with them. Their support through tickets is usually within 30 minutes. They have online support as well.
Great deals, and unlimited bandwidth with their MS packages, which is huge for me.
They have a great site manager. Though it might not be the cheapest, for the few extra $$ you pay now, it's worth it. (Especially for us Canadians because our $$ is nice and high).
Also, if you refer someone to them, you get 20% commission. So.... if you decide to go with them use the link above. My firstborn is being born in a few weeks and I want to spoil myself before I lose control over my bank card :)

I have personally not used HostingASPNet.net but I think they are overselling. However, you should wait for reviews from some one who has used it before signing up. I am with
Softsys Hosting and it is excellent for me.
All the best,

It looks like they are just an add site for Easy CGI, and they will not let me host multiple sites. I neeed a good amount of disk space and bandwidth for the ftp, so I can transfer large files, often I transfer folders that are up to a couple gigs online.
And I don't think Softsys will work well for that. I use Dreamhost for all my non ASP needs, but they are Linux, so I can't do that for my ASP.Net sites.
Can anyone else tell me about experience with Webhost4life?

My WebHost4Life plan gives me:
2 GB web space
2 GB DB Sotrage
Unlimited Sub Domains
More Email Addresses than I know what to do with (And email disk space) (3GB Disk space)
I've set up friends so they have their own subdomain and their own FTP access that only goes to their sub-domain
Extremely easy control panel for setting up your site.
Very knowledgable Tech and customer support.
and a lot more.
They have an offer on for today only that waves the 20$ setup fee. but yo ucan see everything they offer here:

I've seen people use NetFirms. I've heard people pretty much say, "you get what you pay for". Are you looking for a dedicated server or someone to host some sites? You're welcome to PM or e-mail me if you have any needs I can help you with.

I am looking for someone to host sites, now I am looking for the company I work at in the day, and the company I run at night as well as for personal. I have about three places I use now, but almost everything is on dreamhost, and I plan on staying with
them. They host blogs and php stuff, they are Linux though, but I am able to use as many databases as I want, they give me enough bandwidth and diskspace that I have not had to worry about any of it, they jump to it everytime I have a problem. I have just
started developing on asp.net, so now I need to find a windows server.
I purchased space with webhost4life for a project, but that was just the one project. I am not interested in a re-seller account just yet, so I am looking for something that I can start out cheap and move up to a nice re-seller account possibly. A dedicated
server would be overkill.

You can go with VPS for your rquirements as it has more added features than Reseller Hosting.

You absolutely can not go wrong with http://discountasp.net/
As J.K. Croney, on the Microsoft ASP.NET Team puts it:
"I just wanted to say that you are doing an amazing job of offering top quality ASP.NET hosting at an affordable price."
Look at the ASP/ASP.NET components each account gets:
Each also receives a free IIS7/ASP.NET 3.5 account:
ASP.NET 2.0 Reseller Hosting

A few questions.
What type of site are you looking to host?
How much disk space and bandwidth do you use?
What does your budget look like?
Oct 23, 2007 11:05 AM|PunkJohnnyCash|LINK
What type of site? I am hosting half a dozen blogs, one new social networking site that is small, a few static almost all html sites with a little ajax, jscript and limited function. I do all this now php and linux. I ask because I am migrating to .net
I want to build up similar apps and whatever people need, but I predict similar sites. I do not do reseller hosting because I just host for my clients, it's included in the cost at a low fee to under cut some of the companies I compete with who charge alot
for hosting. My budget can change but right now I pay not much more than $100 a year with Dreamhost. I do not mind going more than that but I do not see myself paying $30 a month unless a project hosted there has become relatively profitable. I'm looking
to close the month of October with a little under 4Gigs of Bandwidth used but I would like to increase that in the next few months as some of my current projects are posted. I have around 20 mysql databases. I am Using 1058 KB of disk space, and That will
likely increase due to the nature of one of the sites. My budget is open but I am more inclined to go less expensive as long as It is working, and now it works fine. I am new to .net I've been doing it for about 6 months, and I am noticing a huge difference
in Windows vs. Linux hosting. I never realized it was so drastically different. I love Dreamhost where I host my current php stuff, and would just put everything up there but it is Linux.
I really need room for growth.
Oh, yeah and I did purchase space at Webhost4life, I like them so far alot, that is just for one site I am doing aside from all that, and it works good for that site, but will not be good for many sites. I do not want to pay to host multiple domains or
databases I want that paid upfront. It's a pain to have to pull out a credit card to add a database or something.

With WebHost4Life you can have your one site, and then host multiple off of it.
I have bicnet.org.
HOwever, I also have 3 other sites hosted from it. All you need to do is purchase your new domain name, and point it to your new directory in your webhost4life site. very easy to do.
Seeing you get unlimited bandwidth with webhost4life, hosting multiple on one account is simple - especially as you usually get 2GB space right off the bat.
