Hi there - I want to write a classifieds site and found the Classifieds Site Starter Kit.
Can I go and change it for my own needs and then make it a commercial site.
What confuses me is that in the write-up they say I can fully customize it, but where
you download it, it says:
(A) No Trademark License- This license does not grant you rights to use any contributors name, logo, or trademarks.
So does this mean I may not put our own name in the logo??? May we not customize
it - put up our own logo and use it commercially - if so - what's the use?
Please help me - will it be LEGAL for me to customize this and then change logos
and use it as my own site????

You can change it as you see fit.
I think it is a generic disclaimer stateing that for example if it had a reference to Sony,
it is not giving you authorization to use Sony's name/trademark.
So customize it to make it your own.

I think it also protects microsoft's part of the code that exists. So if you make changes to the website (most people do).. You cannot claim copyright to the whole thing...but only to the part that you modified. and same thing goes the other way...So if
you change it to something else then you cannot claim that MS built that.
I am currently doing MAAAJOR changes to my version and will be releasing it in December (hopefully).. so i really hope that its ok :)
This was a great learning experience.
Best of luck.
