I'd bet they dont use one... they probably have their own servers.

Personally, I like WebHost4Life (http://www.webhost4life.com/default.asp?refid=darkfalz). They've been good to me and my sites.
A lot depends on what you are after though...shared hosting, dedicated hosting, budget, etc....
What are your requirements?

My requirement is that the site should be able to support access to thousands of user accounts everyday. People logging in and out - like daily access.

You'll either want to look more toward a premium hosting solution with clustering or consider a Windows VPS.

I will give a +1 to a more premium hosting solution, especially if you are certain you will have that many people constantly on the site doing something. YouTube is owned by Google now, I believe, so they probably have them hosted by themselves. Facebook,
I don't know, but I assume it is at least a few dedicated servers located in different locations and/or with load balancing.
I am currently with WebHost4Life and the service has been terrible. Support answers quickly, but they don't do anything to help. My site is down everynight around the same time and every once and awhile (like today) the SQL server goes down. It is odd, however,
because other people I know have had great luck with them. I am on Shared Hosting, by the way, and am considering clustered or VPS just for the increased reliability and/or control.
