I know this is a little off topic but I figured this would be a good place to start. I'm trying to server a couple RSS feeds. When I go to localhost/feed.rss I get the following error message:
The request is not supported.
I would try to add the web extension to IIS but IIS is demanding that I add it with a driver, which I didn't know existed. When I save the page as an XML file it works great, but has the wrong extension, (.xml Vs. .rss). I found one web site that said
redirect the .xml file to the .rss file. I tried that using redirects both times and it gave me the same error. Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance,

IIS does not know what to do with the extension "RSS". You need a HttpHandler to take care of RSS files. There is a RSS toolkit on CodePlex at
This supports consuming and publishing RSS feeds.

We found a different way to fix this without using a Handler. We right clicked on the file in the IIS MMC, went to properties, HTTPHeaders, MIME Types, New, .rss & text/xml, OK, OK, Apply and it worked. I'm not to say that this is the best solution, and
I don't know entirely why it worked, but it seemed much easier than what I read about Handlers.
Thanks for the reply.
