i'm trying to deploy the core MPS components. I've just installed the MPS Deployment tool. I've added the the target servers in the 'Servers' tab.
Next i followed the instructions in 'Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 4.0' help file. But i got stuck on DWSPV.31 and DWSPV.32.
I get an error message when i hit the 'Deployment' button. I already tried the complete installation a couple of times, but no luck. I already switched from a Dutch version of Windows 2003 to the US version. I use Windows 2003 Enterprise edition R2 with
Service Pack 2. Is this version supported for the Deployment tool?
This is the message i get:
Message: Deployment interrupted because of a failure. See inner exception.
Inner Exception (1): System.Exception
Message: MSI log returned non-zero error code 1603

I don't know what you mean. I use Windows 2003 Enterprise R2 with SP2. Isn't this version supported???
Can you tell me wich version is supported. Windows 2003 standard edition with R2, or without. With SP2, or with SP1.
Thaks for the answer, Patrick

I just reinstalled my MPS server. Now i used Windows 2003 Standard edition with Service Pack 2. Without the R2 CD.
I'm still having the same error message.
Do i have to reset something on the domain controller? I've installed the MPS server a couple of times now. Maybe there is some conflict???
Thanks allot, Patrick

Yep, that was the solution. I installed a Windows 2003 version with SP1 now everything installed smoothly.
