i'm brand new in HMC 4.0. I'm just installing my first base environment. I am wondering if it is okay to user the domain.local naming convention. I'm using the 'Unofficial Consolidated Server Deployment Guide. This is because we have limited resources.
Offcource the HMC environment will be reachable from the Internet by it's own domain name. Is this a good thing. Or do i need to call the AD domain.com instead of domain.local

You can pretty much use any domain name you like. If you intend on having resellers in your organization then you might consider using an ambigious name like hosted.local, mail.com, something that doesn't identify your organization.
Hope this helps,

this post states, that there is a bug in the Sample Provisioning UI, if the domain name consists of sub domains. Can you confirm this? If so, how to fix this bug?

Thanks Benderover. I'm also involved in the post you've mentioned and finally I found the piece of code, that does not accept sub domains.
