I have moved a VS2005 asp.net website from an XP machine to Vista Ultimate. I am unable to debug the site running as localhost. I get an error saying that "Integrated windows authentication is not enabled". I could have enabled it easily in IIS6, but I
don't know how to do it in IIS7. After searching on the internet, I could not find any info on how to turn on integrated windows authentication in IIS7, but found a link to down load a hot fix to solve this issue at
https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?DownloadID=7250&wa=wsignin1.0 (KB937523) through Scott Guru's weblog
http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2007/06/27/public-hotfix-patch-available-for-debugging-asp-net-on-iis7.aspx. But when I tried to install this patch, I got an error saying "The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because
the program to be upgraded may be missing...blah...blah". It seems that this patch is only for Vista Home series and not for Ultimate. I then tried to attach the debugger manually. It got attached, but I don't see any page being displayed. I am pretty frustrated
for the past few weeks with this issue. Please help!!
