I have member.aspx page that accesses SQL database on line were members input data. Upon entering the <submit> button i would like to display a simple popup page that "thanks" them for their input. I DO NOT need to redisplay the data for confirmation. I
want to display the confirmation page (thankyou.aspx) and redirect them to the webs home page when they click the <close> button on the thankyou.aspx page.
Development environment is VS Express, vbscript and jscript.
Where can I get examples of code to accomplish this task?

For first part use write an event handler that handles the survey collects the data and stores it for use and then does a redirect
protected void btnSubmitClick(object sender, eventArgs e)
// Application saving logic
later in thank you page
you could have a simple button
<input type="submit" value="close" onclick="window.close();">
clicking this button will generate a message that this webpage is trying to close and clicking on the dialog will close the window.
Let me know if this helps you

Have not resolved the problem with microsoft development tools. However, it's easily resolved with Macromedia tools. So I guess, will drop MS and move to a tool set that works! MS has a long way to go regarding creating a developer friendly web / database

It is not related to any development tool
All is to just show the page for giving the response

WE DON'T WANT TO SPEND OUR TIME CODING TRIVIAL TASKS! MS is missing the point with their tools. The problem is the tool. It's not intelligent enough to provide technical prowess to enable doing simple tasks and leavel developers time to perform the "heavier"
coding tasks. THE TOOL IS THE PROBLEM! Other developement systems (MS's competitors) provide tools to quickly accomplish the trival tasks leaving the developer much needed time to complete the complex tasks. Apparently MS communities are unable to provide
a solution to this issue. We've received over 423 "solutions" none of which work. The developemnt community accross the web abounds with questions similar to this. Get real! THE TOOL IS THE PROBLEM! Every "darn" simple task with this tool must be coded! If
you don't have a solution, don't bother us with your anidotes and defenses of a pooly though out development tool.

We DO NOT want to deal with the dialog box! All we want the form to do when the submit button is clicked is (1) post the data, (2) redirect to the "Thankyou.aspx" page.

None of the answers are useful. Your 3rd generation midset is not acceptable at this point in time.

Its so simple just psot the data & redirect to another page

Yes it is simple. We completed it with Dreamweaver. We get no clutsy dialogs, data is saved, and the thank you page displays without any ado. It took 2 minutes to complete the task with Dreamweaver. YOUR NOT LISTENING TO WHAT WE ARE SAYING, SIMPLE TASKS
SHOULD BE EASILY HANDLED BY THE DEVELOPMENT TOOL. 3RD GENERATION SOLUTIONS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE IN THIS DAY AND AGE! CHANGE IS INEVITABLE .... BUT APPARENTLY NOT WITH VS 2008.
