Hi I can create distribution lists and they work. They also appear in PWA (it looks in the AD so no surprises there)
However they do not appear in the GAL. I have looked at the GAL properties but the filter shows nothing in the exchange shell and ADSIedit shows some metadata. I do not want to have to manually build some opath queries if I can avopid it.
Does anyone know where these filter properties are kstored and how I can view edit chnage them?
PS I note the metadata tags for all GAL and AL are the same and if I use update-globaladdresslist it is pretty slow to do this

I used the createdistributionlist procedure I get the groups then use the procedure to uopdate the group membership. I looked in ADSIedit and the users have no setting for the GAL only the AL but they appear in the GAL the DL also has an entry for the
AL. Not sure if I need to add an entry for the GAL for a distribution group since I dont need one for the user objects. Hence the question about the GAL filter and how it updates the lists what properties is it looking at.
We use HMC4.0 and are going live so I sort of need an answer someone from MS must know a bit of assistance would be appreciated.
