I have used 2 test servers for developing my VS 2005 web sites. Using "Copy Web Site" method, the other test server
opened the ASPX web sites w/o any problem; however, the production server showed "Failed to access IIS metabase" error.
Using "Buid>Publish" method, again, the other test server opened the ASPX web site w/o any problems; but the production
server showed the "Server Application Unavaliable" error msg.
My 2 test servers are XP and the production server is Windows 2003 server. I have learned that XP/w2k and Windows 2003
server run ASP.NET applications with different approaches: Window Role in Windows 2003 server and .Net Framework/IIS in XP.
Our Windows 2003 Server was installed with VS 6 long time ago and was recently installed with .Net Framework 2.0.
Exactly what do the error msgs. mean? Any more procedures (.net Framework 2.0 and IIS) for deploying asp.net 2.0 to
Windows 2003 server?

Have solved my problems after followed the steps in the 01-29-2007 post of the following link
As noted in the article, it's a little unclear to me exactly which part of this really resolved the problem,
because I had already done lots of these steps w/o the problems being solved. I even
re-deployed the aspx allications after re-start the production server and before the above steps.
All in all, just my luck!
