I am using Visual Studio 2002 connected to a Visual Soursesafe 6.0d database (for a web project)
I am trying to access my solution and projects from the server. So I go to 'Open from Source Control' and pick the solution file.
Now visual studio starts copying the folders and files. However, it always freezes at almost the same point saying
Creating folder 'obj/Debug' on Web Server' .
Normally I would kill visual studio, delete whatever it copied, delete the cache and try again. Eventually it works. But this time it is not happening. Can anyone help?

If the opening process always block at this point. You can try the follow 2 options to workaround this.
1. Delete the Obj/Debug folder from project. This means the developers will not get the built dll from the server and will build this themselves on their client side.
2. Or you can use VSS Explorer to do the get process to get everything from VSS to client. Then open directly from the client copy.
