1. Dose the SQL Server shares the web space or it has limited space per database?
2. Do they have maximum number of email messages to be sent from my account daily?
3. Can I access the SQL Server using any SQL Server management software, i.e. SQL Server Management Express or I have to use thier SQL server control panel?

Do NOT go with 1and1. Look at this quick google search of "1and1 sucks" : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=1and1+sucks&btnG=Google+Search

I JUST cancelled my 1and1 account not thirty minutes ago.
I got the VPS.
ftp didnt work
email didnt work
Since I was there for 2 weeks, think I can ask for my money back...since NOTHING worked?

I have to agree with everyone here, avoid 1&1 if possible. I had two domains with them a few years back and it was painful just trying to navigate the control panel they had. Support was unresponsive, setting up anything was chore and I ended up dreading
anytime I had to try and do something other then FTPing to the site.

I'll throw my 2 cents in here too. I had a client who thought that he got a deal thru 1and1.com. Whenever I had to access the Control Panel it was slow and very hard to maneuver. I wouldn't recommend it.

where did you go after moving from 1and1?

I went to Ultima hosts which is ok (always has latest technology, but this sometimes means periodical short downtimes for maintainance), but i might eventually move to Crystaltech because I'll soon need a semi-dedicated server and (on paper) I think Crystaltech's
deal is better. Plus I hear many good things about Crystaltech.

I actually went to discountasp.net with the sites and had a great experience. Nice thing about them is they have a demo of the control panel on the site so you can get a look at it before you buy. From what I understand they build the whole CP themselves.
Also the SQL DB was hosted on it's own server and not sharing space on the web server which was something I was happy to see.

If you do go with discountasp.net, make sure you know what you'll pay after adding on all the features you want. Their approach is much more "a la carte," rather than packaged, which can be either perfect or bad for what you're looking for.
Also, do NOT go with any host that doesn't have a separate server for databases. It is actually a standard now.

if you want cheap hosting & much better than 1&1 go with
If you may pay $16/m go with
CrystalTech - the best host ever

I too would recommend going with Discountasp.net. They are a very affordable host and they offer a ton of ASP.NET features, and unlike 1and1, their hosting actually works.
