I am hoping you can help. I am using a host (1and1.co.uk) for my hosting and things work well if I publish to my main default domain.
With 1and1, I have several domains and in order to isolate domains they provide a domain pointing tool that points secondary domains to sub-directories on the main domain..
So, if my main domain was domain.co.uk, I can publish and browse to domain.co.uk and ASP.net projects published there work fine.
If I have a secondary domain, eg domain2.co.uk I can use 1and1 tools to point to a folder on the first domain. For example, domain2.co.uk has a destination of domain.co.uk/d2. I imagine that this SHOULD allow me to publish to domain2.co.uk without interfering
with domain.co.uk's function.
This is what 1and1 say about it...
The domain destination refers to the directory, folder, or existing website your domain resolves to.
From the drop-down menu select:
Basically my main domain works but if I then try to publish any kind of solutions to other domains within my portfolio they not only do not work, they break EVERYTHING else on all domains.
WHat do you think? WOuld a script be abel to redirect requests from root? And does anyone have exampels fo how to surmount this problem?

you CAN not use domain pointig if you want to run more than one .net app on 1&1 servers.
go to faq.1and1.com and read how to host multiple .net app (BTW you can have up to 5 .net app)
