We have two servers hosting our web site. I will call them server1 and server2. By typing
www.nrgcinesys.com, user can be directed either to our server1 or server2. We have backend Oracle database. Last Friday, somehow, our server1 started acting weird. User can login to our main page (we always require
user to enter user namd/password and then we will direct him to our main page). On our server2, everything is still working fine. But, when user types
www.nrgcinesys.com and get directed to server1, user can still enter login page to enter user name/password as normal. However, if they want to go to any other page from main page, it will take forever to enter any
other page and hit time-out.
If it's web server problem, I think user shouldn't able to enter our server1 main page, isn't it? If it's database problem, then same time-out problem should occur on our server2, isn't it? Funny thing is the problem started around 2-3pm last Friday, till
5pm, everything went okay on server1. However, this morning, server1 behaves weird again and our user hit time-out probme. Thus, we have to shut-down our servre1 so that our clients can be directed to server2. We have Window server 2003 installed on both
servers. I am developoing our web site. However, I am not familiar with server at all. Anyone can provide any suggestion or help? Thanks.

If you have 2 servers pointing to a shared resource, like a shared file system using a UNC path, then the servers can run out of work items. This can cause one, and then eventually both servers
to slow right down after you have a bit of traffic. Here's a KB article on it:
Some things you can do to troubleshoot are:
