I have recently inherited a VS2003 VB.NET Excel plugin project which installs a DLL on the users machine and an Excel sheet which uses the DLL (part of installation) for RTD. When the project was built using VS2003 the Reference in Excel pointed to the installed
DLL. When the exact same project is built in VS2005 the Excel reference is to the built DLL on my developer drive and not to the installed file. Does anyone know how i can make the Excel reference point to the installed file in VS2005?

I have half figured this one out. I went back to VS 2003 and still had the problem. So i removed every reference in the registry to the Dll and Tlb file. Then opened the excel sheet my project was based on, went into the references and pointed the missing
reference to the dll in the bin folder of my project. Build, deploy and voila it worked.
However when i open the fixed project in VS2005, Excel crashes. Beautiful. Maybe someone can help here, otherwise i am having my machine rebuilt and hopefully that has something to do with it. Will keep you posted.
