I am new to mobile devices and purchased a SmartPhone running Windows Mobile 5.0.
Browsing in general works fine BUT I cannot login into my self-written ASP.NET site (NOT!a appl for mobile device, …just a regular asp.net website) which requires a login that is written in old fashioned style with FormsAuthentication Ticket (as ASP.NET
2.0 web application). This means that the app does not make use of the built-in authentication of .net 2.0!
User calls: www. some-domain-name.com/Appl/Content/Page-A
Page-A requires login and user is automatically redirected to www. some-domain-name.com/Appl/LOGIN.aspx?ReturnUrl=...blahblah/Page-A
After providing the credentials the user hits Submit and the Login.aspx page code validates the user, sets the authentication cookie and reads the Url ReturnUrl value.
string returnUrl = Request.QueryString["ReturnUrl"];
This all is standard asp.net procedure. Why does the Redirect to Page-A not work and why am I landing back again on the Login.aspx page instead of Page-A?
MUST I use: FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage instead? and why?
Note: My application works fine with all desktop browsers and in general my core authentication works also fine on this mobile device since I get an error message when I try a false password/userid combination.
The problem is that the redirect to the actual requested page does not work.
Any idea and help is appreciated.
