I'm a PHP developer looking to move into ASP.NET.
So far I've gone through the 14 lessons available through a link in VWD Express, which has covered the basics;
Deploying a site,
using controls such as textfield, labels, buttons and setting .text values on button clicks
So I think I've covered most of the basic, I'm confortable creating a template in dreamweaver then opening it in dreamweaver to create a master page, then adding database controls and user controls to modify information stored in a database file in the app_data
I want to move onto the next level, but there are so many books out there I really have no idea what to get.
I've had a look on amazon.co.uk and come across
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Build-Your-ASP-NET-Site-Using/dp/0975240285/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6/202-0424702-0455040?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1175272479&sr=8-6 which I think seems to be what I'm looking for, but I thought I was ask for advice on this forum.
Obviously I don't want nothing too basic as I think I've covered most of those, but I don't want something that automatically assumes I've been programming in asp.net for years and just need to know about the new features in asp.net 2.0.
I plan to study for the MCPD later on in the year if that provides you with my targets.
