I have a Login control with my own LayoutTemplate. Unfortunately, even templated, the Login control renders an enclosing table. The CssAdapters do eliminate the enclosing table and everything renders correctly in the browser except that I can no longer
access the contents of the UserName and Password TextBoxes. [:'(]
[ my template, including the required UserName, Password TextBoxes and an ImageButton with CommandName="Login" ]
And in the LoginError handler, both the SiteLogin.UserName and SiteLogin.Password values are null.

much like you posed. I gave Edmund an answer and he reposted it in Scott's blog. Basically, you can use syntax like:
I admit this isn't as tidy as the original (unadapted) syntax but it works in many cases. If you have problems using it, write back and we can discuss it more. Cheers.
