I'm writing an web application that allows users to upload files, including, .MSG files (It is very important as requested by my USERS that they keep emails in .MSG format for records).
I'm able to do the upload portion with the wonderful file upload control and linking to the file that rested on a server. However, when I clicked the link via IE, it returned me an "error 404" message. By any chance, does anyone here knows why and how to
I've checked that the file do exist. It's just not able to be opened via IE link.
Another question is, if by any chance anyone has an answer to the following (knowledge wise): I tried to open a .msg file that lies on a local hard drive. It opens successfully when I double-click it for the first time. However, if I closed the .msg file
and open the 2nd time, it showed an error message saying the file does not exist or I do not have enough permission. When I restart my outlook, it works again for the first time.
Thank you in advance! :)

oops... haven't done typing..
This mystery has been resolved with great hint from Sue Mosher from Outlook Discussion Group on Microsoft!
I set the MIME-TYPE on the IIS and it now can handle .msg file. [Idea]

Any chance that you remember what you set the mime type to? I am having this exact trouble and have not arrived at any solution that allows an .msg file to be opened through my .net application. I can open the .msg file if I set it outside my application
folder and link to it there, so I know the server can serve up .msg file types.
