I have a problem on IEWebControls with ASP.NET 1.1. I downloaded the WebControls and installed it in my computer following its instruction. After running build.bat, I copied the WebControls.dll to the Bin folder in a web application. My problem is that I
cannot request the sample page at (http://localhost/sampleapp/multipage.aspx). The error message is: File or assembly name Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls, or one of its dependencies, was not found. I also
tried to create a new web application and a test page (see the following code). When the page is browsed, there is a parser error:" The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls' does not match the assembly reference."
The 'Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls.DLL' is the same as the page version126.96.36.199. Does anyone have the same problems? Thanks!
Here is the simple code:
<%@ import namespace="Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="mymultipage" Namespace="Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls" Assembly="Microsoft.Web.UI.WebControls, Version=188.8.131.52, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" %>
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" >
<form id="Form1" method="post" runat="server"> </form>

Im assuming by copy to the bin you mean made a reference to the assembly. After that step did you add the dll to the toobox, bu right mouse click and select "choose items" and broswe to the assembly. I think doing the latter may negate the need to make the
