When creating a windows forms report (rdl), multi-value parameters are rendered with a nice drop down list with check boxes...including a (Select All) item. When you run this via a report server and render the report for the web, the multi-value selection
shows up nicely as well.
Can I create a similar web form dropdownlist with checkboxes so I can duplicate this functionality with an RDLC report?

A post from another forum suggested this. Noone at this forum seems to want
to comment... I also found that a search for "checkedlistbox" rather than "dropdownlist with checkbox"
provided better results...
Please check this online posting.
It describes creating a dropdownlist with checkboxes. There is nothing out of the box available. You will have to write your own control.

Yes you are true.. there is nothing out of way but yeah it's true we can write our custom control to feel similar behavior.
I am also having similar kind of requirement where-in I am supposed to design a search screen with multiple multi-select dropdownlist.
What I did is I wrote a custom webcontrol where in I fixed a textbox and a button. on click of button I am toggling a div containing chekclistbox
but the problem is IE6 overlaps other dropdownlist over the div tag. so list does't appear properly. the solution I found is to apply IFrame. but again it gives problem with IE7 and mozilla browser.
So while writing the custom webcontrol different browser rendering has to be taken care of.

I'm trying to create my dropDownList with checkboxes but I'm having a lot of problems.
What I'm trying to do now is override the DropDownList control (as suggested in this forum:
http://www.dotnet247.com/247referenc...42/211693.aspx), but I'm havng problems right in the frist line:
Public Class CheckBoxDropDownList : System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl, INamingContainer
System is highlighted and asking me for a declaration ("Declaration expected"). What is wrong then? I created this class in the folder App_Code. Is it correct? Please, I need some help with this.
I'm using ASP.NET 3.5, Visual Studio 2008 and VB.NET. And the DropDownList is inside a GridView.
Please, if you have any suggestion about how to make this CheckBoxDropDownList, please let me know. I'm almost desperate!

Yes. You can create.
You can use the telerik RadComboBox.
<telerik:RadComboBox ID="cmbItemStatus" runat="server" OnClientDropDownClosing="onDropDownClosing"
AllowCustomText="true" OnItemDataBound="cmbItemStatus_ItemDataBound" SkinID="ComboWithCheckBox"> <ItemTemplate> <div onclick="StopPropagation(event)" class="combo-item-template"> <asp:CheckBox runat="server" ID="chk1" /> <asp:Label runat="server" ID="lblItemStatus" AssociatedControlID="chk1"> <%# Eval("DisplayName")%> </asp:Label> </div> </ItemTemplate>
just checkout the www.telerik.com.
