I will answer your original question of "how can I remove the package" but first I want to urge you to resist that urge because what you saw (the slowness) is a one-time-only thing. Take a look at this earlier posting,
http://forums.asp.net/thread/1482057.aspx. Any time VSI perceives that you've added a new set of templates (e.g., whenever you install a VSI) it has to do some one-time-only processing when you bring
up the "new web site" dialog. The next time you bring up the same dialog it should be super-speedy again.
If, however, you do wish to remove what the VSI installed you can do so quite easily. You can read about VSI files and where they put their "stuff" here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/y3kkate1(VS.80).aspx. Meanwhile, all you have to do is navigate to the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates
Depending on whether you are using VWD or the full VS you will find different folders here. If you hunt around you'll find these four files (provided you installed both the CSharp and VB versions of the adapters):
Simply delete these ZIP files and you will have "uninstalled" the things that were installed by the VSI. You may find, ironically, that removing these ZIP files also causes the "new web site" dialog in VS to be incredibly slow the first time you invoke
it (immediately after having gotten rid of these ZIP files). Again, this is because whenever you change something in the VS template area it makes VS do extra work the next time it brings up that dialog. However, after that first slow time it should become

you do not know how detailed your reply is! if there was a kudos system here, or rating - this would be up there at the top!
haha! you just saved me so much annoyance, i thought it was a problem with the whole of visual studio or just the adaptor extention, but it's fine now! thank you so much!
