i m trying to make a dictionary in asp.net 2.0. i am stuck where to begin. i m using nchar as the field to store the unicodes. but there are problems first of all where to begin n how to use the unicodes from the field and display them...secondly i m not
able to display the text of the unicode... its like how to retrieve the codes and how to encode them and display them.plz help me i m in a very difficult situtaion...

You need to save your pages as unicode in VS, also do encoding in the application layer as needed, in the database use column level collation in the languages you will be using. So read these links below to solve your problems as needed. Hope this helps.

but there is a problem i m using vs 2005 there is no option of saving the file as unicode... i m switching to the html view n then trying to save it unicode but it didnot bear any fruit :(
can u give the precise code for the entry of unicodes in my SQL server 2000 n then retrieving it back n displaying it... it is actually my academic project which i have to submit in near days....

This is for a school project I am not here to do your work for you but I can help you, so the first link shows you how to encode you files in VS2005.
The database localization is a very complex subject and Microsoft covered it in a very long aritcle below and it is specific to 2000 because 2005 comes with improvements not in 2000.
And in the link below there is a three part article that covers the database info you are looking for and how you do it, these will keep you busy. Good luck with your project. Hope this helps.
