I copied the whole folder of a built web application project to a computer which is not the application built on. After creation a virtural directory for it in the IIS console, and setting the property of web-sharing of the physical folder as application
permissions - Excute (including scripts); I still can not open the project in VS. The error information is as following:
Web Access Failed
The default Web access mode for this project is set to file share, but theproject folder at ''http:/localhost/CSharpCodes\Web1" cannot be opened with the path "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\CSsharpCodes\Web1". The error returned was:
Unable to open Web project "CSharpCodes/Web1". The Web "CSharpCodes/Web1" located on server "http:/localhost" does not exist.
What would you like to do?
1) Retry using a different file share path
location: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\CSharpCodes\Web1 (a browser butter aside)
2) Try to open the project with FrontPage Server Extensions
I chose 1) and browser to the destination physical folder but it does not work and return to the same error window, and the default path for the location always the same: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\CSharpCodes\Web1
I don't know what's wrong or some setting missing. Is it always harder to relocate and open a web application project than windows project? Thanks for your help in advance!

Select the Virtual Directory created From the IIS.do Right Click. On the Directory Tab See Application Settings.Under that Application Name will be there and Textbox beside that will be there and that will be disable. Now press the Button Create which is there
near that Textbox. Now you can open the Application from the VS.
