Hi all, i was trying to run a simple application in
http://www.vwdhosting.net , it is about applying a theme.
but it returned an error saying the theme is not found in the application or in the global theme directory. i am sure everything is in right place and it works fine in visual studio 2005. the app is also very simple ("with an empty Default.aspx page and
the theme sets only the body background to green thats it). How can this fail to work? can anyone give me a hint? is there something i need to configure ( i never knew something like that exists)? by the way everything just works fine whenever i just remove
Theme="Aqua" from the <@ page /> where "Aqua" is the theme i used. i have even tried to use it in the web.config - but same result. i really need some help here, so please help me.
thanks in advance.

This happens when your application inherit another web config from another application. If you are running this in a folder abou the root either remove the root application or create a new sub-domain and install the application in there.

Hi, thanks for the replies.....well how can i set my current folder the application root folder. it is possible that the folder structure is like that:
and i dont have access to Layer2 or above, is it possible to configure in web.config to set MySite as the application folder? can you give me a hint?
there is no other root application running i think. may be my application folder is being considered as a subfolder rather than an application folder thats why the server do not find my special folders but runs the aspx pages in right way. but i have tried
to put the files as up levels as possible , still nothing happens. so if there is a way to configure it in web.config it will realy help.

Go to the IIS and create a virtual directory for that folder.

ok, thanks for the help. i atlast figured out the problem in vwdhosting , i used the starter kits to understand the folder structures in the ftp. there was another problem with the .css file extension, and atlast it worked out.
though i could not solve the same problem in another host. they dont give the access to any upper layer , so i dont understand how can i use themes there ( or i dont know if they want me not to do so), well i will take help from their support section.
again, many thanks for the help.
