I need some direction on generating images in .NET code.
If given a URL, how I might generate an image of that web page? I'm basically looking to replicate what ask.com does on their search results page - when you mouse over the little binoculars it shows an image of that page.
I don't need all the code, just some pointers on where to start if this is even possible.

I havent tried or even researched this but you might try to export it through a print job, sort of print to file type of thing, then convert the print file to an image. Convert the page to a .ps then use a ps2jpg conversion.
hope that helps a little

I dont know if you're still searching for a way to do screenshots, but i had a look at it in my free time because i wanted to use it on my website. i wrote it in bash in linux but it shouldnt be too difficult to do it in .NET by just creating new processes.
i put it on my website how i did it, here's the link:
I hope it helps
