I just downloaded Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition a couple of weeks ago, and I keep getting a message stating that I need to register the product or the app will expire. And then it asks for a Registration Key. But when I downloaded the product,
I wasn't given a registration key.
I've just now completed my online registration information at
http://profile.microsoft.com, but I've still not seen any way of acquiring a key. So my questions are:
1) Are you required to register the product to continue using it for free?
2) If so, how do I get a registration key?
Thanks for any and all help.

You may have to sign up for a Microsoft Passport.

Thanks for the response Michael1965.
I've done the Help>Register Product thing, only to be asked for a Registration Key that I've never received. And I already have a MS Passport account set up. So where would I actually get the key to register the product?

If you successfully filled out the registration forms, you'll eventually get e-mail, Subject:
Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Registration Key
that will eventually lead to you getting sent a Registration Key.
Are you sure your e-mail system didn't filter the registration e-mail as spam?

I finally did see the email with a link to get the key, and it all worked out well. Thanks for your help.
