I've created a website for sms-sending, I use the AD Membership provider, it works fine, but I have one problem. The way it works now, is that any member of AD can login to the site. The way I want it to work, is that I create a group in AD, for example
SMS, and only members of that group will be allowed to login.
I read another post about using the allow roles=domain\group in web.config, I've tried that, but the only thing that happens is that the login page reloads, and no errors is displayed. When I look at the Event Viewer of the server with AD running, I can
see an unauthorized login attempt is written. I cannot debug the code on the server.
Is it right to use the allow roles in the web.config, is it that simple? and why does it not work for me..? The server is running Windows Server 2000.
