We have the MPS SDK beta 1 and have written a little provider for Blackberryt but had some issues installing it. We tried to work it back and start with the HelloWorldProvider both vb and cs in VS
2k5 but we get two errors. Actaully all sample providers give us the same errors
er' specified with namespace = 'SDK Hello World Provider CS' is invalid. Check i
f the provider is registered in windows registry for machine name='MPSSQL01'." c
ode="0xc2201002" executeSeqNo="0"><errorSource namespace="SDK Hello World Provid
er CS" procedure="Hello World"/></errorContext></response>
so we used regasm and we got this error
<response><errorContext description="Failed while instantiating provider object
associated with Namespace = 'SDK Hello World Provider CS' with CLSID = 'HelloWor
ldProviderCS.Provider' with Error Code='0x80070002'" code="0xc2201001" executeSe
qNo="0"><errorSource namespace="SDK Hello World Provider CS" procedure="Hello Wo
Any suggestions would be most appreciated. We tried every different registration method in the sdk docs and what little hair I have left Ive since pulled out.
I suspect it has something to do with the .net framework 2.0 and 1.1 and mps

There were several issues we needed to correct to overcome this problem. Firstly we moved the dev enviroment to the same box as the mps engine. Secondly be careful with the actual requests. The sample requests the SDK creates for the sample providers dont
work without some modification.
We got it to works nicely on .net 2.0 and vs2k5 thanks largely to some tips from Conrad Agramont.

What changes did you make in order to make it work?

It's always best to have VS 2005 installed on the MPS engine server to develope providers. This alows you to debug them, which is not possible when the dev box is on another server.
What is the issue with the same requests generated. Can u post one and post what it should have been.
