I have a small web application where the data can be both in English as well as Chinese. The data comes from the database. Now depending on the locale, i want to show either English or Chinese data. My database server and web server are on different machines.
When i change the regional settings of the web server machine to Chinese, I was able to correctly see the Chinese content (I access the site from a thord machine). But when i change the regional settings back to English, I do not get the data correctly.
1. Is it required to change the regional settings of the web server?Doesn't that defeat the purpose of globalization and localization?
3. Should i be using some Encoding scmese in my application to convert the data from DBCS to Unicode and vice versa?
