I'm receiving an error message when I attempt to access/run default.aspx.
InvalidOperationException: Compiler executable file Bin\vbc.exe cannot be found
The file vbc.exe is in the Bin directory. I used a standard install and completed without errors.

I get the same thing. I have vbc.exe and VB9CodeDomProvider.dll in my bin folder. I copied everything from the LINQ bin folder to my bin folder and no luck. Any Ideas?

The compiler should not be in your bin folder, and the DLLs shouldn't have to be copied into your bin folder; Blinq should put them there automatically. Did that not happen?
Try removing and reinstalling LINQ.

I will try reinstalling. I should mention it works great on my development system (running from VS2005). I get the error when publishing it to my WIN2003SBS IIS system.
BTW, Binq is great! any plans on putting search functionality in?

I reinstalled Linq and got the same result. This is what I have in my bin folder.

Maybe I need to review how to deploy an ASP.NET web site. I have to admit I'm new to the process. I have more experience with applications. The web site I create from scratch using .NET 2.0 framework works fine. I publish the web site on my development
system, then I copy the contents of the projects PrecompiledWeb folder to my IIS server. I had to change the web.config to profile enabled=false, because I was getting a personalization not same as compiled error, but other than that I don't change a thing.

That was it. I took the compiler entries out and it worked.
Much Thanks, Josh

I'm having the same problem. Can you tell me in detail what you did to resolve this issue.

You should modify the web.config file on your webserver:
Remove the following line :
<compiler language="vb;vbs;visualbasic;vbscript" extension=".vb" type="Microsoft.VisualBasic.VB9CodeProvider, VB9CodeDomProvider" ..... >
All should work fine.

Still unable to run...here is the system.codedom tab. Can you make the changes and I will try again. Thank you.
<compiler language="vb;vbs;visualbasic;vbscript" extension=".vb" type="Microsoft.VisualBasic.VB9CodeProvider, VB9CodeDomProvider" compilerOptions="/imports:Microsoft.VisualBasic,System,System.Collections,System.Collections.Generic,System.Data,System.Xml,System.Drawing,System.Diagnostics,System.Configuration,System.Web,System.Web.UI,System.Web.UI.HtmlControls,System.Web.UI.WebControls,System.Query,System.Query.Sequence,System.Query.Queryable,System.Data.DLinq,System.Xml.XLinq,System.Data.DataRowExtensions,System.Data.TypedTableBaseExtensions,System.Data.DataTableExtensions"

Don't remove the compiler entry. Things won't compile anymore.
Kim, you sent me mail asking me to reply, which I did, but I never heard back. Did you try reinstalling the May 06 Linq Preview?
