I've looked pretty hard and can't find anything. I was wondering if someone has seen anything on this topic. I've noticed that a lot of sites are using subfolders to access personalized data. Example:
www.myspace.com/hinder . I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations on how this could be accomplished in asp.net.

Users can be allocated their own physical folder - not a way I would go though!
Therefore, assuming the folder does not physically exist, the server will redirect to a pre-determined (page not found) page, from which the users identity can be derived (as the last node of the path), and then redirected to
some other page.

I have browsed these two sites. I have to say "dancecook" and "hinder may not be a folder name". I said that because if you browse
www.myspace.com/danecook/ you will get a 404 error which means there are not any default page under dancecook folder.
If we cinsider dancecook as a non extension file, there are two way to do that. The first is to write a filter for iis however this is not a recommended way in asp.net world. The second way is to config the iis and make all the extension mapped to asp.net
isapi. Then you can write your own handler or module to handle and parse this kind of non extension file anf redirect it to the right page.
