I believe there is one requirement missing from the previous list compiled by Kevin:
- provide a consistent data access strategy
I still think this is a very important item. But it is a complicated subject. On the one hand, if we find a more optimal solution for the DAL, we could convert the entire core over so that we have consistency. However we now run into the problem where there
is significant documentation describing the current method ( books, tutorials, videos, artcicles, magazines, etc... ). So in this case, a new developer to DNN would be even more confused than they are now because they would be referring to documentation which
describes one pattern - and the code would be using a different pattern. I think this is an important item to note because in the developer community we always tend to focus on technical solutions - but the logistical aspects ( documentation, etc... ) are
sometimes even more challenging.
