@XuDong Peng - Thank you, have tried the Application_BeginRequest solution but it doesn't work.
Although the issue is now resolved by rolling back the MySQL Data version to 6.10.7 - the issue is still interesting.
The date is stored in the database as DATETIME format, which is then transferred to a .NET datatable (using MySqlDataAdapter's FILL) which stores each column (I believe) as an object.
myAdapter = new MySqlDataAdapter(myCommand);
var thedate = myDataTable.Rows;
At this point, 'thedate' is the wrong format:
The issue is that there doesn't seem to be a way of changing the format
at this point.
