Thanks for responding. I want to make sure you understand the problem I'm posting: the "long" link works fine, when I click on it, it takes me to the "/Accounts/ConfirmEmail" view as it should, the email IS confirmed, and I can then login.
What I am trying to accomplish is to get the email to format so that the short link appears as a clickable link:
Confirm and so the "long" link appears without all the open and close tags (<a href=...></a>).
It was obviously the intention of the method-as written-to format the email directly from the controller method (no separate email template). I can't figure out why they didn't format it correctly. In fact, when you start an MVC project and choose local
Authentication, you get all this already packaged and wired up with the tables and Entity Framework for the Accounts/Identity module. The email confirmation lines are commented out, so all I did was uncomment to use it.
As to debugging, I have run this many times through with breakpoints on all the lines where the elements of the email is formatted. Looking at the strings, they look strange but I don't see where syntax errors might be.
I guess what I'd like to see is a sample of similar that shows correct syntax so I can repair this.
