You have to consider where it is computed.
"Computed" just tells that the calculation is always done on the server side (for example using
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191250(v=sql.105).aspx that allows to automatically compute a column server side and you can persist or not the value for performance
reasons) so here EF will get the value from the server (even if you update an object) and then you ignore this value by computing your own value client side.
NotMapped is to tell that you don't want at all this column server side, for example because you are doing anyway a client side calculation...
