I am currently attempting to leverage DirectoryServices to call DirectoryEntry.invoke("SetPassword") in what i would consider a fairly common sense. Unfortunately I have run into a total stop when the invoke returns a "RPC server is unavailable" exception.
After a gauntlet of goggle trial and error I still cant seem to resolve this conflict and am at a bit of a loss.
My application is hosted in a local IIS deployment and reaches out to AD via a VPN. Connectivity and polling have work in many previous sections of the app but now with the attempted reset call i receive the above error.
The RPC service is running on the DC and the bind account I am using to preform the action has the highest level of permissions possible. I have turned the firewall off completely to eliminate that possibility. I have also tested every port I can find relative
to this process and all see to be working as intended.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Edit: I had this post in the wrong location so here is a link to the other thread as i got a bit of feedback there.
