I have been testing DNS resolution over the last few days. It seems that occasionally the DNS server configured on the PROD box returns no valid addresses for the entry. There's a couple of DNS servers between the service and the actual load balancing master
DNS. As I never see any errors logged on the server when this issue occurs I am wondering if HttpClient might actually be misreporting the error as "500 internal server error" when in fact it is more of an addressability issue.
