That's the approach based on a similar post that I tried to adapt, without success.
One error I was getting then:
Microsoft.CSharp.RuntimeBinder.RuntimeBinderException: 'string' does not contain a definition for 'IsEmpty'
However I'm also getting that error from your solution above.
So I changed to item.EmailAddress == null to get around that error.
The second problem I had was the link to CustomerEmail.cshtml, which still occurred in the new solution.
But it works when I remove the ~/ and just go with <a href=\"CustomerEmail.cshtm.
So, your solution got me on the right path and does what I need, although I would prefer the IsEmpty approach.
