Wow; I've been having massive problems for weeks and weeks simply trying to install SQL Server 2008 Express SP1 (x86) on my Windows Vista partition.
I've been trying to use an installation tool called "Install Microsoft Visual Developer 2010 Express", which in turn offers an option (that doesn't work) to install SQL Server 2008 Express. I eventually come to an installation message "Setup could not install
SQL Server 2008 Express..." Nice message; very helpful.
I can't find my previous thread on this forum but I think the advice was to remove whatever is currently installed on my PC and to reinstall using the "manual installation" technique. I would like to try this. Can this forum provide guidance as to how
to uninstall and then reinstall SQL Server 2008 Express SP1 using the "manual" install method?

Thank you very much!
