I have a scenario where when a user visits the website, we retrieve a chunk of information about them and store for future use. I use a cookie to ID them in the first place and at present store the retrieved data from the database in cookies too. This
works fine, but there are obviously limits using cookies such as the amount of data that can be stored. Whilst there are also ways of working round this, I'm taking the opportunity to rethink.
The question is can I retrieve the user data, store it in a temporary table, speifically for the user and expire it at session end just as a cookie would. I don't want to put anything in session because the whole aim of the rethink is to avoid upper limits
Thanks in advance.
