Session State needs to be enabled on the target handler - either with the IRequiresSessionState marker interface or on an ASPX page with EnableSessionState (which effectively generates the marker interface). If neither of these is set Session is null for
that request. IOW, Session state by default is driven through the HttpHandler, not the module pipeline.
You need to make sure the target handlers/pages have session state enabled or otherwise your code can't access Session and you should pass through by checking session for null and taking alternate action.
