To be on a safer side, backup the hosted database first on your local machine and try out the below:
Generate 'alter table' scripts to add new columns to the schema of existing table of db which you have hosted. Be sure to allow null values in these new columns and then execute the script on the database. Once it is confirmed that it is working as expected,
you can upload this database back to your hosted db. I am however not sure how will you add values into these new columns for existing rows (which did not had these columns earlier).
