I also came accross this problem and had to waste many hours try to solve it (btw it does not happen with SqlClient), however I wasn't working with ASP.NET but using ADO.NET OracleDataAdapter directly. It turns out that it expects to see every single parameter
which you have defined for your command inside its corresponding sql statement.
So in this case 7 update parameters are defined but only 2 parameters are used. So you must either remove the other five parameters from the <UpdateParameters> block or use their values inside the UpdateCommand property.
Same goes for the Insert if there's a mismatch. Here're another link which describes this problem:
