First, let me preface my statements by saying that I have never done anthing with the Membership & Roles stuff, nor have I used SQL Server.  I am getting ready to start a project where Membership is a requirement.

If third party hosts are haveing so much trouble "connecting" to the SQL database, why not create an Access Provider with the exact same setup as the SQL Provider?  Is it that difficult to do?
