All MySQL hosts provide PHPMyAdmin or similar - a tool which allows me to easily import the content of my locally produced MySQL database. I run MySQL/PHP etc locally much the same as WinXP users can run IIS/SQL Server.
Dreamweaver can then connect remotely to my host's MySQL database and now I can continue to create my dynamic webpage content locally but connected to live data at my webhost.
VWD seems to have a problem with this work flow.
VWD encourages us to develop web apps locally with mysql express but it is not easy to deploy simply because of the need to edit web.config and the lack of web hosts that offer asp.net 2 with mysql express.
Most asp.net hosts offer SQL2000 or SQL2005 database support but they dont provide any easy import for the SQLexpress db. How is this done? I dont understand why this question is so difficult to answer?
VWD may not be targetted at non-programmers but it does at least need to be friendly to experienced PHP/MySQL developers otherwise many wont readily adopt asp.net despite seeing it's potential.
