Thanks for you reply. I too come to the conclusion that the gridview doesn't suffice, and that's why I posted my question in this forum.

I'll try doing this the "hard way" and will get back to this thread if I run into more problems or if I find a good solution that can help others.

Column sorting is great but doesn't cut it this time, as I need to change more than just one ORDER BY parameter here.
