I currently have a Web API with basic authentication set up for it. I have successfully hosted the API on IIS 10.0. When I try to make a POST request to it from a external program, the message returned to me is "Internal Server Error". I looked at the logs
and it is labelled as Error 500.0.
Anyone has any idea how to tackle this issue?

You looked just at the IIS log? Exception details should be written to the Windows event log by default.

According to your description,it's important for find which type of 500 errors you met.I suggest that you could use FRT to log the details of error .Here is the link.I hope it could help you.
