I have a new laptop. Installed on it is VS 2008 and VS 2012.
I need to download the appropriate Oracle Data Provider. The OS on the laptop is Windows 8.1 64 bit.
On my old Windows 7 laptop (32 bit) I believe I have version 11.2.
Should I download the same version (if available for 64 bit), or should I go with the latest version?
Also would I have the ability to modify a program on each machine or only on the machine that I actually developed the program on?
Also, when reading oracle databases from my .Net application, do I only need to download the ODP.Net or do I also have to install something else as well?
The reason I ask is because I see I also had downloaded some kind of ODT with ODAC, (not even sure what that is?) a while back.

Version 12c R3 used, which appears to contain the needed oracle elements. ODBC connections were bit of a challenge.
